Herman Dune- greater than the sum of its' parts!
A fine album of quirky folk/pop, with just a hint of darkness. The album has a Lo-Fi quality to it, but don't let that put you off. In this case more (in terms of post production) would almost certainly mean less. The album opens with the single "I wish that I could see you soon" with it's up-tempo verse and hooky chorus/horns the listeners attention is very much grabbed. Subsequent songs continue to keep the atention, with very little sounding like filler. The songwriting is split more or less equally between the two brothers Ivar David and Andre and both deliver with aplomb, whether they are writing of a bus journey in Bristol or the bitter-sweet sensation of writing poetry to a loved one. To summarise: Imagine Leonard Cohen and Van Morrison both develop a sense of humour and decide to record together. The result would probably sound like this!!
Korg Electribe Sampler ESX2 Red - Stand-Alone Step Sequencer *New Version*

Improved version.
I have long been a fanatic of Korg equipment, from the original Kaossilator to the recently reissued MS20. This sampler brings together a lot of the features of the aforementioned gizmo but adds much more functionality. You now have complete control over each assignable pad and the ability to load .wav samples. Both of these are, for me, a plus. The sequencer is quite intuitive, though the quantising is sometimes a little harsh, with little option to change it; or indeed to turn it off. I would also have liked more options in terms of filters. This said I have already, a week in, had my money's worth in fun alone. I can even sequence my Ms20 and Volcas. The pattern chain facility adds even more playability. Keep up the good work Korg!
