Miles to Go - by M. Gifford
I have always respected Patrick Moynihan, a gutsy thinker who could bridge party gaps and seemed mostly to try to do what was right and not just what was in the best interests of the Democratic Party.
But - the man is no writer, not, at least, based on what I see from this book. Despite an (obviously)tremendous intellect, a facility with words, and great wit, Miles to Go is discursive, sometimes borderline incoherent, moving from topic to topic in the same essay (the book is, apparently, a collection of essays from over many years) with few "state your point/make your point/restate your point" examples.
While a reader may be able to gather a general feel for the political process and tone of the historical period in question, the lack of flow poses a major obstacle to the enjoyment of this book. I pity anyone who ever attempted to unscramble this political tossed salad.

Hard to beat this deal
Very attractive case, works perfectly. Highly recommended - if I needed another case, I would buy one of these without hesitation.
