The best of all the PS3 models
The memory card readers are an essential part of the PS3 60Gb and only available on this model. Especially being situated at the heart of the home, the living room. My family use this feature regularly for their digital camera memory cards to store all pictures on the PS3. This enables viewing of these pictures on the tv as well as making a backup of all our family photo's.
Why make all your old PS2 and classic PS1 games redundant by buying one of the newer models of the PS3? Only the 60GB model has the backwards compatibility and formed the second reason for buying the 60Gb model. Now i have twice as many games to play without any additional expense.
The stories of the older model breaking down are sadly true. This model is more prone to overheating problems, which aren't dangerous, but could cause the unit to fail. Don't weight your decision to which model you buy too heavily on this fact. I've had my 60Gb from when they originally brought out the PS3 and is still going strong. If it does fail, with a bit of electrical experience, its possible to fix yourself. Alternatively a good computer shop would be able to fix it for a small fee.
Personally, i wouldn't buy any other model. In my opinion, the old model is still the best.
