Great beginner plant
Started a planted tank and wanted some easy to grow, beginner's plants. I had Jungle Val and Amazon Sword to begin with and they have grown really fast and reproduced twice as much as I had bought, through runners. But I wanted a different plant in there to break up the "texture" a little and to add colour instead of it all looking green. Someone recommended Red Tiger Lotus to me, so I ordered this one off eBay. It arrived really quickly and when I opened it, it already had about 3-4 leaves on top of the bulb. I pushed it halfway into the gravel and just left it. Now it has 7-8 large, dark red leaves with roots growing from it. I understand that they will soon send shoots/leaves up towards the waters surface, that if I want it to grow bushier, I should trim off the floating stems. I have a 125L Fluval Roma with LED lighting. Standard gravel substrate, and dosing 10ml Easy-life Profito, 10ml Easy-life Ferro, weekly. Also 2ml Easy-life Easy Carbo daily, however I will be moving on to a pressurised CO2 set up soon. But this plant seems to do well, even in my current set up. Very happy!
