Firebrick

Recieved "universal" firebrick set for 18" fireplace. When fitted rear brick was 40mm short. Contacted supplier who said it was correct (16" was even shorter) . If not suitable i could return. Have subsequently extended with fire cement and piece of old firebrick. Which has worked ok. Side firebricks have vertical cracks after winter use. But still functional. I regard these as sacrificial so still do their job satisfactorily. And much cheaper than new fireplace

Replacement loghorse

I visited a friend to help cut up some branches taken down by a power company. He was so impressed with the speed and safety of this loghorse he wouldnt let me bring mine back So i bought a new one to replace it. Good value. Quick logsawing to a useable size. The guard makes it safer to use. Small and light enough to transport and carry.to where needed. Slight niggle. Had a problem getting the "R" clip through the hole - needed a bit of filing. The bar supplied for tightening. I drilled a hole through one end and tied a loop of string so i could hang it on the log horse when not in use.

Windscreen replaced

Product arrived promptly. Followed instructions on tube. Windscreen fitted and sealed without leaks. Cleaning up took a while. No real instructions for this. But finished screen looked good.
