Transform your listening experience
These little suckers really pack a punch. Bought 2 Walkmans for me and the wife last year. I went for the 845 with quality noise cancelling buds included but she liked the 455 because she liked the colour. Bottom line is that the sound quality from the Walkmans is easily better than any iPod I've tried and the buds that came with the 845 are really top notch. What let the 455 down were the supplied earphones. They are uncomfortable after a short time and built for ears the size and shape of Shrek's. The sound quality of the 455 was wasted through these things but was transformed with the buds from my 845 so I searched for some alternatives and found the MDREX500LP buds which are very similar to those from the 845; albeit without the noise cancelling capability (455 doesn't support the feature anyway). Paid just under half Sony's RRP and they are superbly built, comfortable however long you wear them, 3 sets of differently sized buds so you can match to your lug holes and they have transformed the listening experience of the 455 Walkman. Pay £00s for the Apple products if you wish, but if it's sound quality and a comparative bargain, buy a Walkman and match up with some quality headphones like these and you'll be happy. You won't get all the additional gizmos that you get on some of the iPods as the money goes in to the sound reproduction and hoorah for that. If you find this review useful - that's great.
