An accessible introduction to playing the piano accordion
I would recommend this book for someone who wants to start learning the piano accordion for sure. It starts with a brief history of the instrument, and introduces the make up of it, how to hold it and get notes/chords out of it. It provides elementary exercises that culminate with compositions from different musical genres for you to play, introducing further musical theory as it goes. I struggled with a guitar as my first musical instrument decades ago, and I found that the piano accordion would have been a better first instrument than the guitar, both for the learning of basic musical theory and the technical difficulty involved in getting simply notes, chords, tunes out of it. This book and a piano accordion showed me that these days you don't need to be born some sort of masochistic musical genius to make music.
