Convert older Quicken for Mac with Quicken for Mac 2006
Turns out that Quicken 2006 for Mac which can be downloaded for free, can convert many older versions of Quicken for Mac

Printer vs. Modem vs. Null Modem cable
I needed a modem cable for my recently acquired Mac SE/30 and DB-9 female WiFi modem, but many people are not sophisticated enough to realize the differences of a modem cable from a printer cable.
So I purchased a Din-8 to DB-25 Imagewriter I cable and put two adapters on it:
one to convert it to DB-9 female;
and the other, a "null-modem" adapter, which converts a printer cable to a modem cable.
