Mealworms by Adrienne Mason

Nice book geared for elementary school children. The book is well written with nice drawings. The investigative ideas for self discovery about mealworms are very good and well thought out. Would be a great addition to a classroom library.

Fun educational game

This is another fun Carmen Sandiego educational game. It has multi-level and multi-subject questions in a "game show" format where students challenge "knowbots" to earn points, passwords, and opportunities to capture knowledge thieves. The game is more suited to average and above average students as it moves quickly and has difficult passwords to decipher, which can be frustrating to slower learners. An especially good aspect of the game is that it gives the correct answer to missed items. A recommended addition to classroom or home computer collection!

Endangered Minds

This is an excellent book reviewing the research about the child's learning mind. It can get a little technical, but it gives sound evidence for the author's thesis that children's minds today are literally different from kids a generation ago due to environmental input. A "must read" for every parent and care-giver.
