The Alpha was broken!
Apparently there are lots of issues with the hands on the Alphas. If I'd known this I'd never had bought it. The hands literally disintegrated with little to no movement. At least the Beta is solid. Contacted the manufacturer twice about replacement hands and received no contact back. For money spent, color me unimpressed.
