An atypical history lesson that kids enjoy!
I bought this item because I got my 3 & 5 yr. old nephews 'hooked on' Peanuts. This was a very educational video, with a soundtrack including appropriate songs to the era. The show is not your typical "Peanuts" show-it is not all in the usual cartoon format. You do see a lot of the Peanuts gang, but they are a part of the story of the making of the railroad. Charlie Brown narrates a school essay that flashes to scenes of the building of the railroad. It is a very accurate description of how difficult and enormous the undertaking of this event was. The artists cleverly "painted" actual photos of the event to match the colors and style of "Peanuts." My nephews love it! They love trains more than anything, and ever since I bought this, it is their first choice! I highly recommend it-not only does it inform and entertain, it teaches an important lesson about history in a way that children can appreciate and understand.

A Quiet gem! A Christmas story that surprises you- it sneaks up on you. Great acting, story, and characters. One of my very favorite Christmas stories!

Invest in the earlier version, with better packaging. Great, timeless movie!
As much as I love the movie itself, not a fan of the cheap packaging! I thought it was a pirate copy, until I did extensive search on the Internet. it was a re-release, cheap, flimsy package, shrink wrap felt like a cheap sandwich bag.
