Tesla Wall Connector 24' Model S/X/3 Wall Charger - 2nd Gen
    16. Sep 2018
    Not an easy installation.
This Tesla Wall Connector works exactly as intended. In order to charge at 80 amperes (maximum for this unit), you have to wire for 100 amperes and use a 100 amp circuit breaker. This is because the National Electrical Code requires that any circuit breaker that has to operate continuously (I.e. more than 3-4 hours at a time) not be loaded to more than 80% of its nominal value. For a continuously operating 80 amp device, this means a circuit breaker rating of 80 amp/ 0.8 =100 amp. To have a 100 amp circuit, you need to use 2 gauge wire which is VERY stiff and difficult to bend and fit into a box. Theoretically, since the charger draws “only” 80 amps max, you could get by with 3 gauge wire which is slightly easier to work with. But a 100 amp circuit breaker requires 2 gauge wire. The clamps for the wires inside the charger are located very deep inside and the holes for the wires cannot be seen directly. Manipulating stiff wires into these holes is VERY difficult. The wire clamps have to be VERY tight to prevent arcing because of the high current draw. If installed correctly, this unit works very well. Install is not for the faint of heart.

Written 42 years ago, explains why Iraq is going badly
America has the best equipped, best trained and most professional military in the history of the world. Its annual military spending exceeds the annual military spending of all other countries combined. Yet it is struggling against a much weaker, far less equipped and lesser trained enemy in protracted conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. How could this possibly be? This book explains why. It was written 42 years ago by a French Lieutenant Colonel who fought irregular wars, like those America is presently engaged, during World War II, in China, Greece, Vietnam and Algeria. He methodically explains how a militarily inferior, but determined insurgency, by gaining either the popular support or at least the aquiescence of the local population, can defeat a militarily superior force. He also explains why the tactics of conventional warfare, including "shock and awe," killing of enemy fighters and taking territory, cannot by themselves defeat an intelligent insurgency. In order to defeat an insurgency, the counterinsurgent must devote most of his effort to ensuring the 24/7 safety of the local population from harassment by the insurgent and convnce them that they are better off by cooperating with and supporting the counterinsurgency. Many people consider this the best single treatise on counterinsurgency warfare ever written. Its lessons are extremely relevant to the ongoing conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Palistine and will be relevant to any future conflict America is likely to face in the future. Anyone who wants to understand the paradox of why America lost in Vietnam, why the Soviets lost in Afghanistan, why France lost in Algeria and Vietnam and why the present conflicts are going badly will find this book indispensable.
