Dayton Audio B652-AIR 6-1/2" Bookshelf Speaker Pair with AMT Tweeter

Wasn't expecting much but...

I've always been a fan of the AMT style tweeter. They seem to produce very smooth and detailed high frequencies. I saw these, read the reviews and thought I'd check them out. They are so inexpensive if they didn't pan out no big deal. They arrived on a Saturday about 2:30. I know speakers need a break in period so I hooked them up, put my receiver on 2 channel stereo mode and gave them a listen. I left the room and came back in 4 hrs. and they were a whole different speaker!! They now sounded pretty darn good!! I have have a 3.1 set up in my bedroom using a M.L. motion 6 center and I'm happy to say they gel very well with it. Honestly I'd have been happy if I paid $200 for the pair. Great mid-range, great highs and a surprising amount of bass. Great soundstage and imaging. Very airy sound. I believe the 87db sensitivity rating is a bit higher than claimed by the manufacturer. I'd put them around 89-90db. I ordered the matching center channel as I like to have matching speakers. Bottom line: If you are on the fence about these speakers just pull the trigger! Give them some time to loosen up and you will be rewarded with a great sounding speaker for dirt cheap!! Haven't listened to any music yet but for home theater surround sound I'm quite impressed. Note: I am a 56 year old audiophile who has a very discerning ear.

Martin Logan Vignette Wall Mount Speakers - Refurbished

Fantastic center channel speakers.

I bought this a Martin Logan Vignette for $99 and free shipping use as a center channel speaker and to compare it to the Bowers and Wilkins VM1 I was currently using. I am very impressed with the VM1 and didn't think the Vignette would compare. Boy was I wrong!! It became obvious to my ears that the Vignette was a FAR better sounding speakers after about 30 seconds of listening time. A much clearer sound and way more bass.The detail and clarity is far superior than the VM1!! At $99 I feel almost guilty for purchasing it. If your looking for an EXCELLENT sounding speakers don't hesitate to pull the trigger on this one!!
