Does the job, only better.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I bought this as a replacement for a non-functioning THGR800 that was a few years old. It does all the things the old one did, and has an LCD display as well.

Good when you know how to use it.
I've had a few shredders over the years, all of them the "thrash & bash" type. The previous one was a Bosch ATX 2000, which went for about 6 years before it failed (wouldn't run at all). After researching the market again, I eventually decided to buy another Bosch, because the ATX 2000 had been the best of the bunch.
The ATX 22000 doesn't disappoint in its shredding, mainly because I have learned ways to deal with performance that is below Bosch's claims - those claims are a bit optimistic. It won't shred 40mm diameter twigs unless I twist them as I feed them in. It produces long thin strips when thinner twigs are fed in, but I take the strips from the bag and feed them through repeatedly until they come out a size I'm happy with. It does clog up sometimes, but all "thrash & bash" shredders do, particularly with soft material. It is easy, but slow, to clear blockages. You have to watch for the signs (less coming out than you're putting in) to avoid having to take it apart frequently. I sharpen the blades by hand periodically.
All-in-all, it's good, when you know how to use it, and I'm hoping to get another 6 years of shredding.

Disappointing
1 von 3 finden das hilfreich I had one of these fitted less than 3 years ago. It failed in a way described in lots of reviews and forum entries. I wouldn't have bought this replacement if it hadn't been for the fact that it was a direct replacement and didn't require me (or a qualified electrician) to fiddle with the wiring. The old one failed when the cold weather arrived and my wife is not a pleasant person when she's cold, so I went for the easy option. I'm not expecting the new one to last more than a couple of years (just outside the guarantee?). Incidentally, most of the reviews said that customer support from Honeywell was good, but that's not my experience. The unit will work okay when you first fit it, but don't expect it to last.
