Great Author
I'm not a Civil War buff...but this author's books have drawn me into the scene and have given me an opportunity to prepare for a visit to Gettysburg later this year. Really enjoying the learning experience. Author is able to draw a "word picture" with great detail, and few words.

Great insight...easy for a non-military person to comprehend. Very thorough, graphic
This book has given me great insight into a period of history I heretofore considered male territory, too complicated and gruesome for my senior citizen, tender hearted, squeamish mentality. Instead, it has awakened an interest in knowing things I should have known for decades about a critical time in my country's history...and a sure knowedge that if we fail to remember the past we are doomed to repeat it.
