A true classic!
Warren Robinett's classic game, Adventure was meant to be a console-based adventure game in the vein of PC text adventures such as Colossal Cave and the Infocom games like Zork, and Hitchhiker's Guide. Implementing graphics in place of textual descriptions and action-based gameplay instead of commands made this the first true adventure game in the modern context. The player must explore a map, find items, solve mazes and kill or avoid the hungry dragons and evil bats that randomly carry away items on screen. a must-play for any fan of modern adventure games!
If you enjoy this game, you should also check out Rocky's Boots and Robot Odyssey (both also created by Warren Robinett), which were my entry point into the world of adventure games and are extremely fun! (even though they are technically educational games teaching basic computer logic and simple circuit design)
