A very worthwhile read for anyone planning a renovation.
A well structured guide to refurbishing with thought and sensitivity. Rambling in parts - but the witty anecdotes easily carry you through; Turner was ahead of the game as far as energy and green issues go, too. A few sections now somewhat more of historical interest, and there's a lack of detail on use of lime and breathable paints. Even so several gems of advice in every chapter wait to be unturned! A very worthwhile read for anyone planning a renovation - but who would rather avoid taking the current open plan Grand Designs route.
