Enormous feel-good factor for a very small outlay.
Our Chef has been perfectly OK for about 40 years but then decided to produce copious amounts of smoke whilst whisking some eggs. As long as you are mildly capable of using screwdrivers and a soldering iron, you'll have no problems mending your Chef with this kit. The instructions are absolutely perfect. Apart from saving around £500, the best bit is the satisfaction gained from doing a proper repair and knowing that in doing so, you've saved a beautifully designed machine from the landfill. Kenwood designed their Chefs to last. There's no glue, no clips, no screws screwing into plastic parts etc etc. A dream to work on.
Whilst at it, I also dismantled the gearbox and cleaned and re-greased that.
