Great film for the thinking person
I have been to Vietnam many times and Saigon is my favorite city. For many years I taught English to Vietnamese who fled Communism to come here. This film is a truthful and emotional picture of how we betrayed those VN who stood with us. One of the most iconic photographs of the war is that of the last helicopter leaving the US embassy roof while outside thousands of our VN allies are left to be imprisoned or slaughtered after we promised to get them out.
One of the heroes of the movie: Quoc the VN bank teller who stays at this desk while everyone else has fled. He says, in response to a question, "I do not hate them. (the Communists). I fear them.....I will stay in my country."
The last scene of the American woman staying in place with the VN who had been promised they would be picked up by helicopters is soul ripping.

Take with a large grain of salt
You have to take this book with a grain of salt since it is Branden's justification for his affair with and subsequent dumping of Ayn Rand. Best read with other books on the same topic so the reader can compare and contrast and make up her own mind.
