Stallone & De Niro make good pairing onscreen
Grudge Match may not have all the action and adrenaline rush of a typical Stallone action flick or suspense of a De Niro film, but it tells a good life story with a blend of humor and touch of seriousness. Essentially, two old boxing champs and rivals, who haven't boxed in 30 years and are now out-of-shape senior citizens, are coaxed into having a rematch.
It's much more, however, than simply a "beat 'em up" boxing flick, as we learn that both men are tied together by an old common love interest (played by Kim Basinger). Both men also have had wildly divergent careers; Stallone sweating away in a metal foundry--from which he gets laid off in beginning of film--and De Niro a suave, successful business man with a fancy home.
I never in a million years could have envisioned Kevin Hart starring in a movie with the likes of a Stallone or De Niro, but star he does and in an admirable, quite funny way as a boxing promoter. Oh, and another unlikely character pops up in the picture: LL Cool J! I'll just leave it at that. This isn't Stallone's or De Niro's best film by any stretch, but it's worth watching for the simple fun of seeing two old, ageing Italian tough guys unimaginably duking it out in the ring.

"Road House" Delivers Where it Counts!
In an age where films are high on special effects (CGI) and short on acting, "Road House" takes us back to a time when the latter was still king.
With an impressive on-screen physical performance, supported by a great cast including Sam Elliot and Ben Gazzara, Swayze once again packs a punch in this film. Blending a tough guy, street-smart persona with a contemplative, sensitive side (think "Dirty Dancing"), Swayze is at his best here as a professional, coolheaded bouncer, reminding us of why we liked him so much in the first place.
"Road House" is a fast-paced film with an engaging dialogue and lots of good ol' fashion action to keep you on the edge of your seat. Although the premise of this film is basic (simple good guy arrives in town and is challenged by an all powerful crime boss), it's a joy to behold and well-directed. And an added touch is brought by a guest star musical performance featuring "The Jeff Healey Band" playing on-stage in the Double Deuce where Swayze works.
