True story about this wonderful breed of dog

This is a wonderfully rich and engaging story about the life of a veterinarian in the mid 20th century rural England. I am a history buff, and also breed and show AKC Champion Havanese dogs in conformation, obedience and agility. I bought copies for all of my kids and grandkids in the hopes that they will better understand - not only the history - but also why their grandmother/ great-grandmother love and support this wonderful breed of dog
