High Quality, but Introduces a Fan Conundrum
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I bought this card for a home theater PC (HTPC), so it could do most of the video decoding and processing work. As an HTPC, I also wanted it to be very quiet, even when playing the occasional game.
It easily handles the LAV decoder and MadVR processing, including the all the best render processing options available. Total 4K HDR frame processing time is around 12mS, giving it plenty of headroom for the 24fps frame length of 41mS. There's even some leeway if I ever needed to process at 60fps / 16mS.
The card seems to be very high quality, and well designed. My only disappointments are twofold:
1.) The radiator's fan is meant to replace the computer's rear chassis fan. However, that new fan does not spin based on the motherboard's temperature, only the GPU's. If the GPU is hardly being used, while the CPU is being heavily taxed, the radiator fan will not spin-up to increase chassis cooling like the fan it replaced.
2.) The radiator fan runs fairly fast even with minimal load on the system. This makes my HTPC significantly louder at rest than it was with a lesser card (a GTX 1050).
What I've done to remedy situation #1 is place the new radiator and fan directly in front of the existing chassis fan, instead of replacing the chassis fan. I couldn't come up with a reason why this might be problematic, although I admit it is not ideal. In this configuration both motherboard and GPU temperature will be taken into consideration when determining air flow through the whole system.

So far, so good.
The battery holds a charge, and the drill has been used for light usage here and there. However, I haven't had a chance to really test it. The real proof comes after the long run. Hopefully I'll be able to update this review when I get a better idea, after 6 months or a year.
The quality looks decent; not quite the plastic forming and fit of the OEM, but pretty good.

As good as it gets
This is a very precisely designed and executed case. The fit is tight, the cutouts perfect, the back textured and grippable, and the buttons the most responsive I've ever experienced. We've probably all used TPU buttons that have a difficult and/or vague feel.
My only gripe, and this is really a problem with Samsung, is that there's no protection of the glass along the sides of the phone. Do we really need a curved screen edge at the expense of any chance of protecting this area? It won't be a very glamorous phone with cracked glass that can't be replaced for less than the cost of another used phone.
The case does its best to hug the sides, but the phone has almost no corner edge beyond the curved glass there. Only a little pressure from the front of the phone, and the TPU on the sides deflects towards the back and exposes even more of the phone's sides.
Anyway, if you want the very basic protection a TPU case can give you on a phone like this, I highly recommend this product. It's only a few bucks more than the entry-level cases, so why skimp on your expensive phone?
