Laugh out loud funny.
Carl Hiaasen is about the best satirist writing today. "Squeeze Me" had me laughing out loud. As an antidote to depressing news, I highly recommend it -- or indeed, anything by Hiaasen. He's great.

Hiaasen never fails to hit the funny bone.
Another great read by Carl Hiaasen. As absurd as it seems to be shaving a delicate area while driving, it is based on an actual news story of a traffic accident in Florida! When Merry Mansfield rear-ends a motorist on his way to Key West, mayhem and laughter ensues.

"Powder Burn." Sums up guns, cocaine, and violence in two words.
The first of three books that Carl Hiaasen and Bill Montalbano wrote together, it's a little uneven in places, and at times I could tell which writer's voice was "speaking." (In the second book they wrote together, I could not tell who wrote what. They seemed to have somehow developed a singular voice.) The story was good and kept me turning the pages. The ending surprised me, but I think it was perfect.
