Environment And Lifestyle under threat.......
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich This film is a classic not least of all for the stunning scenery and locations. The lifestyles portayed by the main characters are so at odds with the people that they encounter on this river journey that it brings the thought to mind " Do we realy need all this modernity?"
The citizens of the woods and river live life by their own rules and to a greater degree ignore and do without the trappings of modern society.
However in the most memorable of scenes the young boy,apparently a product of close breeding if not direct incest, still has the power through his virtuoso performance on the Banjo,given at the drop of a hat,to show the sophisticated visitors that the people of the woods may lead a simplified life, but are realy anything but simple,despite appearences to the contrary.
I doubt that anyone ,having seen the movie,can say that it did not effect their sensibilites in one for or another,and if nothing else, the" Dueling Banjo & Guitar" will never be forgotten.
