William Vanida Modern Bobbin Lace Making Tech BOOK NEW

Scant information on Bobbin Lace

I have made and thought bobbin lace for over 40 years so I always enjoy seeing other people's perspective and tips. This booklet has very little to offer the newcommer. The booklet is 23 pages of size 14 font type with good size margins on a 5x8" format . Typed in size 12 print on normal sheets of paper it would probably be less than 6 full pages. Pages 3-7 introduction do not cover any techniques but just a brief history of lace Pages 8-10 Are supposed to be common errors but cover very little with no diagrams or pictures Pages 11-15 are supposed to be tips And reffers to a sampler which is not included in the booklet. I quote page 12 of the booklet "The beginner sampler below will teach you the basic stitches" No sampler shown and no pricking or pattern. Pages 16-23 bobbin lace tools and materials but again no tips and techniques except some language at the end of the chapter under creating the pattern which talks about the bsic steps in bobbin lace the cross and the tweist but again no pictures or diagrams. This is a most disappointing booklet with a title that does not describe its content.
