Inspiring! Recommend wholeheartedly!
I had heard Prof Brian Cox recently discussing on the radio how the COSMOS series of programmes by Carl Sagan had inspired him to become a scientist in general and a physicist in particular. I am also a research scientist (a biologist) but never had the chance to watch the series when it came out. I am doing this now, and I must say that I find the episodes very interesting, the historical reconstructions very informative, and Carl Sagan very engaging. You don't get the feeling that the series is at all dated! I am also watching the episodes with my child. We are fascinated!
