Sharp and sensitive - but so much left unsaid -
Worth reading - yes,, but what a lot Ms Jenkins has left out! Due to her sense of what's
good form and what is not - but how much this account would have gained if she had told readers about the long love affair that was very important to her - but I realise that she must have felt that there are areas of a life that should be kept secret. Understandable - but the book is the less for having so much not said. Back to her novels - they are sensitive, sharp and she tells things as they are - or were when she was writing - so much has changed, but her work is outstanding.
