Easy Pruning.
My wife is the mad gardener in this family, The Katana is small and light enough for her to handle and does a good job on quite hefty branches. Makes heavy pruning much easier than a chopper!

Lights up models well!
Both being used to light ship models in their glass cases. Very efficient. The only pity is the bright red lead which stands out strongly. Have had to change this to a mid-grey. Now looks good and does the job well.

Camping / emergency lantern.
As we live in a country area, I keep a couple of battery lanterns available for power outages and emergencies. This replacement has proven to be the best ever. Even light distribution, light weight,
