Better than normal coaxial splitters
Alternative to cheap coaxial splitters that don't work well. Fiddle to put together, but far less prone to damage or failure once done. No instructions were provided, so you have to understand how to split out coaxial...

Good value
Seem to have reasonable power and are good value. The real test is obviously how long they last, so can not give an indication of this yet, just first impression.

Fisher price lens provides better than expected results
Soft down at f/1.8, but picks up nicely by f/2.2 for similar depth of field and much improved quality.
Super light as it's all plastic and small in dimension, making taking just the camera (Canon EOS 500) and this lens out for a day trip compact and light work.
Auto-focus is fine - seems equivalent to the kit lenses in speed and noise.
Main downside is the virtually non-existent focus ring for manual work. I don't use this much, but it is useful sometimes and not easy to do with this lens. Bit of flexing on focus ring also, making things more difficult still.
Overall though, pleased with the results and looking forward to improving and experimenting with depth of field work, which was the reason for buying. Can not complain about the price either.
