trackmania sunrise
I got trackmaia sunrise extreme which is the normal trackmania sunrise with the extreme expansion.
Their is a fully fleshed out campaign with 5 varying modes on some intense tracks.
What is really nice about the game is that it runs smoothly on just a average modern computer. It does'nt need to have the latest graphic accelerator or anything.
The real fun of this game comes from designing your own tracks and racing on them. Then challenging your friends and family to try and beat your barely possible stunt track.
If you had fun with lego's as a kid. Its like that but specificly with race tracks.

Slow moving vertical shooter with mechanical flare.
I had been aware of raiden trad for a while collecting games on the genesis/megadrive.
playing in on an emulator for the most part. But I finally decided to pick up the cart to have the real artifact in my collection and to play it on the hardware.
Its a vertical scrolling shooter with only a single player mode and some adjustable difficulty settings. I know most other games in the raiden series, and even ports of this game will let you co op with a second blue ship. But that's not present here.
Still I think what brought me to pick this up in 2017 of all times, is the sprite design, its very mechanical with hulking battle platforms and futuristic war machines, the later space level even has spider walkers weaving around a web of space station pipes.
Every stage has a distinct setting, small animations and effects in the background to witness.
The first stage is easy to cite for this. With soldiers running down a bridge, cows in a pasture, and underground bunkers opening up to deploy tanks.
The music full of catchy little melodys, that will be in your head after you turn off the game.
Its a bit nice that mechanically for a vertical shooter there is a bit of of left and right scrolling so your not contained to the screen as much and its a good immersive effect. Also enemy bullets are easy to see. Which is part of the reason I wanted to get serious about playing it. Since the distinct color is easy to weave around.
Power ups kind of have a sense of humor with fairys coming to your aide when you die and a a few hidden mascot characters to find that count as the collectible medals adding to your score.
I guess the humor comes with the power ups as well they will since bounce around the screen for quite a while. Taunting you into taking a risk for the power up.
Changeing between the two shot types. Laser and vulcan shot, and the two missile types homing green energy with wider range and a more powerful straight missile. you can alt fire a limited stock of bombs.
The greatest weakness however is the ship has no speed boost. just these weapons. Which makes the wider range shots far more important to progress.
The game can be brutally difficult. But Its actually possible to recover your weapons and keep pushing through after defeat with generous power ups continues and checkpoints.
A recommended genesis favorite for fans of shooters absolutely.

War for Cybertron: The Adventure Continues
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich After completing the campaign on War for Cybertron for the Xbox360 I wanted to try out the wii version that takes the assets of war for cybertron and makes a brand new side story. The plot is written well and there are great set pieces, The harsh nature of their war retains its grit and horror. from the larger console version. all the voice actors from war for cybertron are here. Ironically Cybertron Adventures has a Cover system you can use any time in robot form by holding the "A" button.
you have infinite ammo which at first I questioned with the four selectable weapons (and one obviously overpowered) but as you encounter different enemies their utility becomes clearer. The sniper rifle is the stand by weapon, you'll use it the most. The blaster is good in a pinch when there are enemies in your face. The machine gun hits fleeing enemies for extra damage, or swarms of smaller enemies. The rocket launcher is really for attacking vehicles, like cars and Jets.
Sometimes you will need to protect teammates; And so the more effective weapons are the key to protecting them. Also your scored for weapon accuracy and deducted for misses at the end of the chapter.
With the numchuck in my right hand I was really impressed with how similar the control scheme felt to the basic controls scheme war for cybertron on the 360.
It was intuitive.
I have yet to try the co-op.
Even though you can't Transform anywhere. There is a variety of driving, Flying, and Shooting areas packed in every chapter. The vehicle controls are tight.
as a Avid Transformer Fan I really feel it had the production values of a quality rail shooter. So fans of obscure rail shooters or Transformer fans (kids and collectors) should look it up when the price is below $30. Treat it like a Interactive Transformers Television Show and I think you can forgive it for not being able to Transform anywhere.
Its a perfect Wii game for Transformer fans. But I will highly recommend you play the other platform war for cybertron franchise games before you pick this up as those have a lot more you can do overall, cybertron adventures is a unique experience that I think will have a larger degree of fans as the price drops and it becomes more economically accesible.
