Brought our chest freezer back to life
I isolated the problem with our chest freezer by shorting out the thermostat, which verified that the compressor still ran. I replaced the thermostat and am back in business for $32.

Brought an old Black & Decker Workmate Back to Life
I was getting ready to dispose of an old Black & Decker Workmate as the catches for the legs were broken. I decided to check on replacement parts and found these. They do take a few minutes to install but are an exact replacement for the original. Hopefully these last another 25-30 years like the original at which point I'll likely be too old to care about them if they break.
