Timeless classic, comes dirty but very good piece of history.
This thing is great, it's durable and it has plenty of space, it comes apart and can be used to heat water and cook food. It's built soviet tough, but the handles seem to get loose and have trouble staying attached to the kettle when it's all together. After the fall of the soviet union, these things were dipped in a vat of cosmoline lubricating oil and stored in warehouses, this preserves the item but once you buy it, you'll want to clean it thoroughly. The best way to remove the cosmoline oil is to soak the mess kit in mineral spirits, wash it, and then put it in boiling water for a few minutes to make sure all the oil is removed, this worked the best for me when i was trying to remove the oil.

Great winter hat, durable construction.
This hat is very comfortable, it's made of a fake fur that seems pretty durable, it doesn't seem to shed. The sizing is spot on and fits accurately according to the measurement around your head. It's very warm and i think that it would be a great winter hat. The badge that goes on the front of it seems accurate, but the one that came with mine wasn't put on all the way and wasn't centered and it's a bit of a task poking small holes in the front for the badge and then feeling them out to insert the two probes from the badge, though I got it and it fit perfectly, works fine. I can't confirm but i don't believe that this is a standard issue military item and rather a "civilian" replica, i.e: I don't believe Russian soldiers are issued or have been issued these specific hats here but i still like it.

It's pretty much an enhanced version of the regular medium ALICE ruck though it's one of the few that come in a woodland camouflage pattern versus olive drab. The pack features a Velcro slot on the lid that opens, originally used for a radio antenna it can be used for many other long items that might stick out of the pack, making certain items easier to carry versus the regular ALICE packs. This one came in brand new condition as described, usually the waterproof rubberized lining under the lid and the map pouch is the first thing to wear out and go on these packs and this one came in brand new condition so hopefully it will last. This is just like the regular medium ALICE pack in size and has the same set up as the regular medium/large ALICE packs. It consists of three external pouches with areas to mount further ALICE equipment. The lid features a velcro map pouch for small storage, the inside of the main bag has a drawstring closure and the inside of the pack also features a small pouch with additional straps for extra gear/radio. This pack is meant to mate with an ALICE frame (not included) and additional related ALICE straps (They included brand new shoulder straps which you can attach to the pack directly without a frame for lighter loads). I already had a frame and promptly proceeded to install much more comfortable MOLLE II shoulder straps and waist pads for a modified alice pack. I personally prefer GI/Military items versus their civilian counterparts due to cost effectiveness and the sheer durability of the item. The aesthetics are also a plus to me. This pack can take a beating and should provide the user with many years of service. With the proper guides you can also make modifications to the pack and it's related load carrying system for ultimate comfort and utility.
