Way Cheaper than the Original

I bought one of these swivels to replace the Karver K1 top swivel for a top down asymmetric sail that was lost overboard during a sail change. I did this because the Barton swivel was a fraction of the price of the Karver and I was not willing to spend a fortune. The jaws were a bit narrow so I filed them to the 12 mm gap I needed. It has worked flawlessly so far. As a result I bought a second one so I can leave each permanently attached to the asymmetric and a Code Zero.

Not what I'd call reliable

I bought and fitted two of these small pumps because the two that came with my boat had both packed up. I have had to replace one of them once before. One of the most frustrating things about them is that they switch on when covered with water but they do not always suck. So the motor is whirring away but the water remains over them. Other times they work. The original pumps were installed by Ribcraft, a professional boat building company, and so I do not believe it is my poor installation that causes this problem.
