Lovely, but flat on the back.
It's a lovely goddess figurine and I love her! However, it's not really three dimensional; it's flat on the back.

Moving...forthright...tender. ♥️
I was very moved and touched by Sally Field’s memoir. Many of us assume, erroneously, that people who become stars are special and charmed in every way. But very gratefully, Sally Field describes her childhood with her mother, her aunts, grandmothers, father, stepfather, and the various siblings that she grew up with poignancy, genuineness, and with some gained insight. She felt abandoned by her father, she was abused by her stepfather, and all the while she longed for the love and protection of her beautiful but distracted mother. I believe that her determination to be her own person and some years of good psychotherapy aided in her developing ability to put the “pieces“ of her life together into a coherent narrative. This book was a pleasure to read due to its authenticity and it was even more moving in the audio version which is read by Ms Field, herself.

"Shine"
3 von 3 finden das hilfreich This is a touching film about what happens to a musical child prodigy whose development is derailed by his father's unconscious use of him. This is based on a true story and is another deeply moving film that helps us see the intergenerational transmission of pathology. The father is a survivor of Nazi horrors; the mother can do little to protect her son from Father's usurpatious and destructive influence. Gradually, with the help of others who see his talent and care to re-enliven his almost destroyed sense of self, this man regains some capacity to play classical piano and more importantly, to break the psychological tie to his father. He comes to realize that he does not have to exist for his father's sake or to meet his father's needs.
A superlative film.
