Dell Inspiron 1525 USED BUT BEST CHOICE
Dell made a major mistake with this Laptop... Why? They put exactly what everyone needed in this package but instead of making it an industry choice that could be sought again and again, they decided to axe further production. BAD MISTAKE!
When every option needed and put into one package it is extremely hard to best in future sales so DELL decided to downgrade and not make such options in one system. Again a mistake and will ultimately reduce further sales. How to beat it? DO NOT... Simply put out the same package again and market it to the public and see where it goes.
The size, weight, battery life and useful options in the 1525 are all but complementary to everyday use. Thus don't be like car manufactures and try to list all available options... Just put them in and sell as a standard.
One of the main mistakes that causes a company to fail is feeding the public constant change, were trying to settle down to a balance in life and optioning us to death is becoming typical.
Do yourself a favor and find one of these laptops, buy it and KEEP IT.
I highly doubt Dell will ever bring back such a quality package again, if they do the price will be astronomical and hard to justify, which will ultimately be the demise of Dell.

What is quality? Quality is based on variables set according to the user's needs. Our ability to judge what is best, therefore, compare this product other like items...rates about the same. I can not tell you that it is the best, I have not hooked it up to a high output video feed such as an X-Box but I can assure you it will do fine in businesses or residential school applications.
Monitors can be viewed differently according to needs, referring to higher graphics, sorry I can not provide such details.
What led me to choosing this model? The answer is simple, they are being used in businesses, hospitals, Government offices, and on military installations. Apparently someone has done their homework and choose to use this model. Often it seems "best decisions" are based on a "follow the lead" rules.
One thing to keep in mind, which many of our world leaders fail at, that is, don't set personal expectations or needs higher than your pocket book can handle.
As for quality, I can promise and guarantee it will never win in a lightening storm. Therefore, treat it as you would treat any electrical device, the last one of these I purchased almost a year ago, still woring great. Unfortunately, that one is about to be confiscated by my son for his Collage work. Therefore, I purchased this one(used) same model, because...as my dad and my military supervisors use to say "if it works, why fix it" this model works great for me.
This auction, I paid $50, which seems to be a reasonable price. I may have bid up to $80 except that sometimes individual needs and wants drive decisions.

Craftsman 1/2 Hp Gear replacement
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Item comes professionally packed, with every drive bearing worm and main gear (on shaft) two (2) packets of grease are provided. The replacement process can take a half-hour at best... Bearing replacement will need a hammer and punch to R&R. HIGHLY recommend disengagement of door before first activation, to avoid drive damage, due to timing of Up&Down motion...
Cleaning all surfaces prior to re-assembly also makes job easier. Main drive shaft exit for chain drive is NOT pre-greased, thus, assure it receives care.
TAKE a picture and notes prior to disassembly to ease reassembly process, worm gear spacing washers are important!
Overall, kit does the job right!
