These older kit built timing lights are rugged and reliable compared to the cheaply built Chinese products offered now.
While looking for an inexpensive timing light, I noticed that the typical low cost Chinese manufacured lights frequently failed out of the box or after several uses. This older Heathkit model caught my eye. We used to build Heathkit radios when I was a kid and were overbuilt by todays standards. I thought I would give it a try. Even came with the original building instructions and box. Works perfectly and looks brand new. These may be a little hard to find but for a no frills timing light that is accurate and inexpensive - and repairable if it ever does fail ---. With the nature of modern electronic control systems, I don't need a timing light very often anymore and never would use all of the options that they can come with. Keep it simple. Works for me.

not a bad deal at all nice looking with the right parts
I was surprised at the high quality of this piece. The cable jacket was not cheap looking and the threaded end pieces were nicely machined and matched my other cable - which cost twice what this one did.
