Nice amp, shame about the VUs.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I was fortunate to hear this amplifier at a friends home. At a higher volume level I found the treble to be a little shrill and fatiguing with the sound-stage shallow and cluttered when matched with Gale 401s and B&W 663s. However, at low levels the "sparkling" treble helped revealed good depth without great dynamics.
On the plus side, it appears to be extremely well built if somewhat old fashioned looking .... the VU meters don't do it any favors ... it's a look at me feature which I can live without ... personally I wouldn't dream of dropping the best part of $800 on this with auditioning the unit first .... realistically $500 is a better price point even then you risk living with a somewhat shrill amp that will be difficult to trade or sell on.
