Great Historical Read!
My parents lived in the Texas panhandle during the Dust Bowl. They were born in the early 1930's, and were small children when the Dust Bowl started. Some older relatives talked about my mom having her face wrapped in wet cloth when she went outside, but that was all that they really said.
Since my ancestors were farmers and ranchers in the panhandle around Dalhart, Groom, and Panhandle, I wanted to know more about what they went through. This book paints a compelling picture of the times, what led up to the disaster, and what it was like living in the area during those years. I learned a lot and highly recommend this book.
