A chance to view a live performance of a young Delbert McClinton
I've enjoyed Delbert McClinton's unique singing voice, interesting and amusing lyrics and his outstanding back-up band for years on cd recordings. I've also seen him live twice. This DVD was from an Austin City Limits performance in 1982, relatively early in his career. Since I don't get a chance to see him in live performances anymore, this was a great investment and motivator to stay on the treadmill 30 minutes at a time, while being entertained!

Mary Trump exposes her uncle as a clueless, corrupt, con-man

Her book will never persuade Trump’s cult followers, but to those of us who are interested in factual analysis, it is a very good read!

Brilliant analysis of the denigration of research and expertise since the beginnings of the internet
This is the best comprehensive analysis I have read on why the respect for knowledge, factual information and expertise have cratered over the past couple of decades. I grew up and was educated in a time when your arguments and opinions were not taken seriously, if they were not grounded by facts and data to support those arguments and opinions. Tom Nichols does a masterful job of explaining the risks to a democratic republic when the proliferation of "information" and messaging is largely devoid of actual research of the data and the facts. It is particularly dangerous when the motivation is to purposely mislead.
