Poor Quality
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I had expected better quality than the kit actually was. I compare it to Peck Polymers kits and it doesn't come close. The wood was heavier than it should be and the plastic parts were not molded very well with blemishes in them. The canopy is plain with no ridges to show where the glass and metal fit together. I pulled out an old peanut Sterling kit (Corsair and Zero) and even that had a much better canopy. The prop that came with the kit is a Guillows red prop,the type that no wire size fits snugly thru .Really? At least Dumas could provide a decent prop .Will not buy any more Dumas kits

Fuselage wood not good.
This kit is made out of wood so thin that the fuselage has to be completely re-fabricated. I don't know if Guillows has gone to the extreme in their pursuit to offer lighter wood in their kits or not. The fuselage wood is made of 1/20 thick and is very weak. I would not buy another of these kits .Buy the plans and use your own wood .Trust me this thing turned into a night mare and I have been building free flight kits for over fifty years .Guillows needs to beef up the fuselage wood considerably. The rest of the kit is O.K but the fuselage wood is garbage.

Better balsa in kits now
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I purchased three of these kits to compare with each other as to balsa density and die cutting. All the kits I purchased show great improvement in the grade of balsa being used now as compared to what Guillows used to push off in their kits years ago. Die cutting is greatly improved and the quality of the balsa sheets also. My only complaint is the strip wood which is unusually heavy and hard. This could use improvement .Overall I see a lot of improvement and would recommend this kit to anyone that just wants an easy kit to build and is not competition minded .I think this will make a great flyer and would make a great Father Son project.
