This book was recommended by a trusted Christian friend. Just getting into it. Considering for a women's Bible study.

God's Word in a trusted contemporary translation.
The New Living Translation is now respected as a translation, not just a paraphrase - like the Living Bible. So any review regarding the NLT, applies to this one. This edition is not a Study Bible but has some great footnotes, helps, and articles. For in depth study you want an New American Standard or English Standard Version translation - or something comparable. This is paperback (thus four stars) but it also comes in a hardback edition (five stars). I bought it to give away. It would be a great gift for a new Christian.
