The best of the best
All Kato locomotives are well made but when it comes to steam the GS4 is the best. Kato make some other steam locos but none perform as well as the GS4 because of the design of the front floating truck that works wonders at keeping it on the track. I also have the FEF 484 #844 and it is not as stable as the GS4 is. To me this is the pinnacle of n scale steam

Kato makes the best n scale locomotives
Any other brand of locomotive needs to be broken in before it can run smoothly, especially at slow speeds. Some still don’t run that well but Kato’s run perfectly right out of the box. They also get the details right and look great.
