Sagrada, Dice Drafting and Window Crafting
Sagrada appeals to a wide variety of gamers. It is incredibly accessible with clearly defined goals. Players draft rolled dice based upon their traits of color and shade (numeric value.) Drafted dice are then placed into a window based upon requirements assigned by a pattern card. Adjacent dice cannot be the same color or shade. The object is to maximize one's score by meeting randomly determined objectives. Tools can be used to fix mistakes or otherwise manipulate dice in the draft pool.
This game is elegant, beautiful, and easy to understand. Everyone with whom I have shared it has absolutely loved it. Great care was taken in Sagrada's design and presentation. The gameplay is very satisfying and fulfilling. This innocent little puzzle game gradually becomes more difficult in the later rounds when space becomes limited and players begin to require very specific dice. Tallying the score requires several steps, but becomes quite easy to understand after your first session.
If you are considering Sagrada for your collection, you will absolutely love it. It is a masterful blend of strategy and luck. Accessible for beginners as well as experienced players. I am deeply grateful to have Sagrada. Highest possible recommendation!!

Sightings - The UFO Report
"Sightings: The UFO Report" is a compilation of many of the most intriguing UFO stories reported by the television series "Sightings." This show investigated all aspects of the paranormal in the form of a news broadcast. Hosted by Tim White, the show often discussed UFOs, ghosts, Bigfoot, psychic experiences, the Bermuda Triangle, demonic possession, etc.
I believe "Sightings" aired from 1992 to 1997. When it first came out, I was a little kid and it scared the dickens out of me. Nonetheless, I watched it every week. Now, the content of Sightings topics isn't so much frightening, but it remains fascinating. I really wish the show was still on and reporting new stories, as nothing has taken its place. It was a great show.
"The UFO Report" is a wonderful display of many topics important to the field of UFO research. All key players in the field of UFO research are interviewed, as well as reports from everyday people. Commentary is available from Stanton Friedman, Budd Hopkins, Dr. David Jacobs, George Knapp, and many others. Topics covered include: Roswell, UFO hot spots, the 1991 Mexico City sightings, the abduction phenomenon, Gulf Breeze, Robert Lazar, Kecksburg, and various cases involving the Freedom of Information Act.
Probably the best feature the video has to offer is the authentic feel of a regular "Sightings" show. If you miss the show, then it is very refreshing and nostalgic. It even includes the show's original opening sequence. The content is still accurate and useful to UFO research despite having been filmed about ten years ago.
My only problem with this documentary is that I think they tried to cover too many topics in too short a period of time. It is wonderful that they tackle a great many issues in UFO research, but these case studies individually are given too little time and not enough detail. The order of presentation of the stories doesn't follow a logical sequence, either. Of course, this is not a major problem and I'm being rather picky here.
This is a wonderful video done by the best team of UFO researchers I've ever seen. This video would be perfect for a beginning UFO enthusiast who has not done much previous research. However, seasoned veterans who have read many UFO books and seen many of the documentaries on TV will probably find nothing new here. This is definitely a video for fans of the original TV series "Sightings." I really enjoyed this piece and it is a valued part of my collection.
