Great useful well made product

I have long since tired of tiny pushbuttons for my electronics experimenting and projects. While they're perfect for panel mounting, if you solder some male header pins to the leads, they work great on a breadboard.

works better than anything else like it that I've tried to build, but be careful with handling the unit.

I've built 3 of these so far: The 5532 pre amps work extremely well with the electret mics supplied with the kit. I've tried to substitute other mics but they don't work as well. It's probably important to keep the mic leads as short as possible which they accomplish in this kit by soldering the left and right channel mics directly to the circuit board. Be careful during construction. Take you time and get the parts in the right spots. The board traces are on the fragile side and may break with rough handling or desoldering. It would be best to put the unit in an enclosure if you plan to carry it around. That's a little tricky with the way control components are mounted and the way the mics are positioned. I haven't successfully done it yet. Anyway, i do love how well they work and keep building them.
