Only Works 20% of the Time
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich The display via VGA, and audio were functional and flawless all the time. Unfortunately, the USB connection from the switch to each PC is buggy and the PS/2 mouse and keyboard only make contact about 20% of the time. That is practically unusable. It is a shame because using either the buttons on the device or the OSD, it is easy and quick to switch between PCs, but alas, you will have no mouse movement or keyboard functionality. The devices still get 5V power, which I can tell by the illuminated Num Lock light on the keyboard, but aren't getting signal due to the buggy USB.
Not only are the connected PS/2 and USB devices to the switch unusable during the glitch, but any other USB device you connect to the PC directly as well until you disconnect the switch and perform a reboot. Note again that this glitch happens on both my PC's running Windows Me and Windows 7, respectively, so it's not an OS compatibility issue.
What a failure; it could have been a great device if just a little more R&D testing went into it. Get a name brand like Belkin or IOGear. Not very sustainable of course because this ConnectGear unit is the only "new" one I could find on the market. You will have to rely on used name brand units or even build your own from the ground up to get a reliable PS/2 KVM switch in 2022.
