A comprehensive work, but with curious limitations for such a work.
I got this book because I've used someone else's a little. Now I've had a chance for a closer look and found two problems.
1. The section on swallowtails does not include the Palemedies swallowtail (Papilio palamedes), which has a more limited range that the Spicebush swallowtail, but not limited enough to be considered too rare to include in a book of Eastern North American caterpillars.
2. The book doesn't include any identification aids. If you don't know what a caterpillar is, you have to thumb through the very many photos on very many pages, hoping that finding similar ones will narrow the selection of photos you have to look at. If you don't know what the host plant is, you can't narrow the number of photos you have to look through. Using this book to identify a caterpillar you're not familiar with is "hit or miss".

Fast and reliable, once you figure out how to use it (and which FME adapter to use).
Pros: allows Magellan Meridian Color to quickly and consistently pick up 8 or more satellites full strength where it normally takes twice as long to pick up 3 or 4 at varying strength.
Cons: no instructions, and if you get the FME version, you'll have to figure out yourself which adapter is which and which adapter your GPS requires (MCX and SMB-F can be confused).

Competent Web Cam
The Webcam is easy to install/set up and easy to use, however, it isn't heavy enough to keep its position and orientation sitting on top of a 17" monitor against the weight of the USB cable draped over the side of the monitor and hanging down to the surface of the table the monitor is sitting on. Also, for some reason, when it's plugged in, the microphone appears to be always on and somehow coupled to the sound card so that the volume control on the speakers (not the Windows volume control) affects the volume the system sees coming out of the sound card. The effect is hard to describe, other than by saying that in order to capture sound from my sound card without turning my speakers all the way up, I had to unplug the Webcam. There is a light on the Webcam than goes on when the camera is on, but I wonder if someone could listen through its microphone even if the camera isn't in use... The camera is also a bit tricky to focus, though when it's in focus, the picture quality is good.
