Historic Postcard
I'm not sure this postcard of the Czar is a common piece. i'd never seen it before - not that that really means anything. Mint condition - never posted. Interesting graphic - perhaps there is a set of these Russian rulers. I'd be interested in seeing more.

Double entendre title... as it deals with the theatrical stage as advertising current high fashion.
Topic and choice of three long dead stage performers used to demonstrate HOW contemporary fashions in Paris, London, and New York were promoted and advertised on the stage. Famous designers worked with celebrated divas who wore their creations on the stage. It was free advertising that was augmented by notations in the program and also in the various magazines of the period. The monetary element of this free advertising was varied and equally interesting. WHO was helping WHOM in this marriage of Art and Commerce. Read on.
