Works like a flashlight.

Stands the test of time.
I've had and used over six of these. The most comfortable of any I have ever used.

Regular nickel metal batteries are a better value.
A good idea in theory ,because of the output being 1.5 volts. However in high drain use the batteries don't last because of the low capacity. An LED flashlight will only run for 2-3 minutes on a fresh charge.
