Awesome set! Only one problem. Be Aware!
On my stereo, these remasters sound great.
The album is excellent as ever, naturally. The greatest rock album ever, probably. The greatest concept album ever, certainly!
I was a bit underwhelmed by the live performance recording.
The demos are quite stimulating and entertaining, though.
The DVD documentary is informative. The Scarfe interview is great.
The paraphernalia are cool, for the most part:
The coasters are a waste of space. Each has a letter printed on it, to spell out Pink Floyd.
The ticket replica is neat.
The poster is large and has the entire album's lyrics written on it in Scarfe's distinctive handwriting.
Be Aware:
Speaking of the poster---here is the one problem I experienced with this set:
The 3 marbles included with the set each have a wall pattern printed on them. The ink they used rubs off at the slightest touch. The marbles in my box were not in the pouch provided for them. They were sliding around loose inside the box. Thus they rubbed on the poster and the Scarfe art print. Some of the ink rubbed off and stained the poster and print!
I had intended to have the poster professionally framed to hang on my wall. I've tried several means of cleaning it, to no avail. I am actually about to see a museum conservator for advice. Here's hoping she is able to help.
It is obviously the manufacturer's fault for packing the box with the marbles outside the pouch/not inside a plastic bag.
I've tried to contact UMG in hopes they have spare poster remainders around somewhere. They don't even have the decency to send any reply whatsoever.
I hope the conservator has a solution!
Despite that issue, the set is definitely well worth the price.
