Excellent series
It’s another link in an impressive idea to build an encyclopaedia of Britain’s railways pre-Beeching and now. Downside is this excellent series shows us just what we have lost not only in transport terms but also in civilisation terms. Now there is too much concrete, too many low occupancy vehicles and too much traffic-engendered stress. Railways should be a transport priority and they are not, just witness the disastrous handling of HS2. I advise readers to settle back with any of this series to see what we of a certain age know: things could have been so much better for people and the climate if we didn’t have the mindset to rush, rush, rush, no matter the cost to our health and the environment.

Pleased to find
The CDs were quite expensive but they seem to be the hardest part of Loudon Wainwright’s output to find so I was pleased to pay the price and they are in perfect condition.
